Who’s behind this

I run a ghostwriting studio called Opus Eternal. Over a few years of that work, the same thing kept happening: people would arrive having already spent money badly — on a content mill that delivered 60,000 unusable words, on a writer who wanted the full fee up front, or on a ghostwriter when what they actually needed was a $5,000 editor.

None of that is because those people were careless. It’s because almost every page about hiring a ghostwriter is published by somebody selling ghostwriting, and those pages are strangely quiet about what it costs, what goes wrong, and when you shouldn’t hire one at all.

So what is this site

It’s the reference I wanted to be able to send people. 180 guides covering every stage, real cost data, and free tools that answer the questions people actually ask first — what will this cost, and who should I talk to.

If a match makes sense, we’ll introduce you to writers. Sometimes that’s Opus Eternal. Often it isn’t, because your book needs someone else. Either way the guidance is the same, and it costs you nothing.

How this is paid for

Writers pay a referral fee when a match becomes a project. You never pay us. That’s worth being blunt about, because it shapes what you should trust here. It means we have an interest in you hiring somebody. It also means no single agency can buy a better position in a guide, and it’s why the cost pages tell you where the cheap quotes come from instead of quietly avoiding the topic.

Where the numbers come from

Cost ranges are built from rates published by the Association of Ghostwriters and ASJA, plus quotes collected from working ghostwriters during 2025 and 2026. They’re ranges, not promises — a real quote depends on your specific book. That’s what the calculator is for.
